These logs were rotten due to heavy moisture from being located so close to the ground and from a lack of raingutters. We had to replace with full round logs. We used pine since it was the most abundant species of wood used on this log cabin when constructed.

This job was a brand new Koski Log Home. We were lucky in being able to finish this New Log Home before any doors and windows were installed. We ozzied (sanded) this home before any preservatives, sealants, and finishes were applied. For this project the homeowner chose Perma-Chink products which are excellent for log and wood homes.......

This Hiawatha Log Home had over 16 years of Sikkens - Natural coat build up. Coat build up of Sikkens leads to darkening of the logs over time as well as the logs losing their ability to properly breathe........

This new log home needed to be ozzied (sanded) inside and out. We then applied a glycol based borate treatment to the exterior of the logs. Once the logs were dry the first coat of stain was applied...

This job required that we completely remove all of the rotten and decayed logs and keep any original good wood as stated in the National Park Services Preservation Brief 26. We had to also apply log chinking to all of the replaced logs to match the existing chinking.......

We completely restored the exterior of this 1920's era log cabin. We had to ozzy (sand) the logs to remove the old preservative that had built up over the years. We used Sashco log home products that are environmentally friendly. This was key since the home was built on top of rock and has water on 3 sides.....
